MARY-JANE VIDEO + SOURCING LISTS
MARY-JANE VIDEO + SOURCING LISTS
This 2-hour video covers all the steps as I make a closed-toe and open-ankle Mary-Jane. After following along, you’ll have the techniques to carry into future projects: both shoes and sandals!
Mary-Janes, in my world, are closed-toe shoes in front with an ankle component that is sometimes closed, and sometimes open like a sandal. They can be pointy, round, buckling, or close with a stud. I think they are a great “first-shoe” type project because you get to play around with the fit of the 2 elements (the toe and ankle pieces) to achieve a perfect fit.
You might choose to make yours with natural veg-tan, or dye your leather before ‘lasting’, or line a thin garment leather with a thin 2/3oz veg-tan before cutting out all your pieces- so the color and texture possibilities are endless!
After purchase, you’ll receive a PDF with link + password to the 2-hr video, and 2 pages of info and sourcing notes- with links! I hope you have a great time making these++++ I wear mine all the time.
