Want to use your favorite fabric to make your own shoes, or perhaps make shoes to match your outfits? I’ve made a video demonstrating how to sew the uppers for FABRIC SLIDE out of any fabric you have at home!

All you need to complete the uppers is: 1sq’ exterior fabric, 1sq’ lining fabric, 2sq’ batting, and optionally: 4’ piped cord. Because this project requires so little material, it is a great way to use up small pieces, as you aim for zero-waste!

The video walks through each step: checking the pattern on your feet, cutting, piping, sewing, stuffing, quilting.

You have a few choices:

A) VIDEO & INSTRUCTIONS ONLY ($40): After building your uppers, follow the written instructions included in the PDF in building them into sandals. A good choice if you already have some tools and components. THIS PRODUCT!!

B) VIDEO, INSTRUCTIONS & BUILT BY COMUNITYmade SERVICE ($200): After making your uppers, mail to COMUNITYmade in L.A. and have them made into sandals for you! Fill out the form with your shoe size, width preference, and footbed color preference (natural tan or brown/black). They will be sent to you in 2-3 weeks! It’s a miracle.

C) BUY THE FABRIC SLIDES SANDALMAKING KIT ($180): In which you still make your own uppers, but then have all the materials and tools to make them into complete sandals.

D) COMUNITYmade ADD-ON ($160): If you bought the video only but changed your mind and want to send your uppers to LA to be built, this is your ticket! Also if you already have the video and want to send in a second, third, forth pair ;-) :-) :-)
