SEATTLE SANDALMAKING - RUBBER SOLES - JULY 1

250.00

A sandal-making day at DRYGOODS DESIGN! 11am - 5:30/6pm

We’ll explore every step of the sandal-making process, starting off by customizing trusted patterns to suit your own feet and design preferences. (Think tying sandals, buckling sandals, or slides.) Then we’ll cut and assemble the leather pieces, paying close attention to fit and attach to a cushiony rubber sole that will pick up the curves of your foot within a few weeks.

Ill be bringing a selection of rubber soles as well as leathers to choose from: natural, dark, and a few colors! You'll be able to design and make any sandal as long as it has an open toe and an open heel. This class is hard work: be prepared to use utility knives, adhesive, hammers, wooden mallets, shoe anvils, and to get barefoot!

Oh and you'll be able to replicate the process on your own with only a few basic tools if you click with the process.

Another things to note: we will be cutting the sole-edges clean with a knife at the end of class. For an even smoother finish, I'll advice you to either take them to a cobbler for a quick sand ($10) or borrow or buy a table-top belt-sander. FYI !
